Trunk slamming day at the Big "O"

Post by Robert F »

140 of us are done. Twenty fish for the big cardboard check. None of us Westcoasters made the cut. At least out of the back. I am going to get out on the water tomorrow for lots of photos and reports on the event. Have to restrain the urge to take a rod with me and make a few casts. Check www.backdeckpro.com for news about the important side of the event.

I will do a full break down of baits and techniques. After Sunday is my plan. Some of these guys think there are secrets in play. As you know we get on multiple guy's boats and it is uncanny how the exact same bait and techinques are on most guy's deck. If you need it early PM me.

I'll wait until monday as I'm sure it will be a great write up. I'm kicking myself for not fishing this event and I know meyer and big show are as well. I talked to Takahiro omori earlier and asked if it was true that guys were catching 100 fish a day... he said no, not me, I'm only catching 25-50, but my co-angler caught 100 today. He also said that he tried hard not to fish for anything under 4lbs because it was a waste of time.
