HELP!!! need tips for fishing folsom
we have been out fishing folsom almost every weekend and nothing... we throw anything and everything. can anyone help us catch some fish in this lake?
Re: HELP!!! need tips for fishing folsom
The main lake and the South Fork (Browns Ravine side) would be my first choice. Start fishing on the points and work from 15 out to 30 with a 3/16 dart head and Aarons Magic, Halogram Shad or Purple Punisher 6" Robo worm,
My other bait is a jig with a 1/2 or 3/4 ounce football head and green pumpkin or watermelon Yamamoto Hula Grub.
This warm weather is going to have the fish biting a jerkbait on the rockpiles and points any day
Don't travel too far up the river, from the mouth of the South Fork up to New York Creek, the points all the way back to Brown's Ravine and the tip of the peninsula has lots of islands and breaks and rocks.
Slow down, the water is still cold and keep the bait on the bottom.
Hope this helps!

I guess a lot of guys arent talking about it, its been a few weeks since I have been out there, but there is a good jig bite going on in that lake. Brown jigs with Green pumpkin trailers, softball size rocks = fish we found fish in the north and on the main lake - I didnt do as well in the South end. As KB said, really no point in going to far up river. Remember to watch the flows this time of year and position your boat and presentations to the up current side, letting it come down to them. The fish on points in the AM have been on the non current side of the points -
