Pine Flat Lake Fishing question

Post by Luckyfisherman »

I have been fishing Pine Flat Lake near Fresno, CA. for the last 2 years that I have fished that lake I have caught nothing, but small to medium size bass. What am I doing wrong. Most bass weigh from 1lb to 3lbs. I have never come close to any 7-10 lbers in that lake. Anyone using different type of lures to catch bigger fish there? I mostly throw yamamoto senkos(wacky), tubes and DD cranks. Does this lake have big bass?

Yes it has big fish. I personally was there the day that the world record Spotted bass was caught by Brian Shashido. Sorry Brian not sure if the spelling of your last name is correct. He caught the fish in an ABA tournament and at the time I was part of the weigh crew. I have fished PF over the past 30 yrs and has not only caught but witnessed some huge weights from being a weigh crew member for different orgs. Of course there are areas of the lake that bigger fish are more appted to be found and that is something that comes with time on the water. By the way, the World Record was caught on a senko so your bait selection is "spot on" no pun intended. If I can help you any more about PF you can shoot me a PM.
