My new Phenix rods

Post by froteur »

bought a new, new Phenix rod at ISE and another used one from a fellow westernbass member. took them out to the delta this saturday.

i think I've found my new drop shot rod! I purchased the 7'6" spinning rod with the burl wood inlays. rod was super sensitive and really balanced. I would love to have half a dozen more.

The other rod i acquired is a 7'7" mh action. I was throwing unweighted Senkos with it and really liked the feel. I think the action is a little light for the 7" senkos that i like to throw but it'll be great for 5 and 6" Senkos.

thanks to phenix for making a great product!!!!

I also have the 7'7 MH Spin with the burl wood handle. I bought it last year at the ISE specifically for a spin carolina rig. I also have 2 of the 7' heavy bait cast models. They are superb in quality, balance and sensitivity. What is most remarkable is that when you hold them all day you think you're using a model that is a medium action or lighter. But when you set the hook all that power comes into play.

I have the same opinion as Mark1. These rods are very light, yet you can use a heavy action rod all day and it does feel like you've been using a medium action rod. Very light, sensitive but have the backbone you need. I've been very impressed with the ones I've purchased so far

Last time I fished with Rod at DVL I had a chance to get a good look at all of his Phenix rods. They do make a quality product. Tough and Light with lots of feel. You match their dropshot rod with a Curado 50e and you got yourself a sweet setup.

Hi. My name is Perry and I'm a Phenix rods addict.

Looks like the BTD sale is on. I was checking it out last night and it looks like one of the rods available last night has already been sold out.

For those of you thinking about these rods, now is the time. The sale rods are over 25% off.
