Won Bass Hasavu

Post by Pns638 »

Hello, I am thinking of trying to sign up as a Co-angler. I was looking for some thought on this circuit. How many boats do you think it will draw? Is it possible to find a pro to link with to secure my place?

Thank Pat

I should know within a week or so whether my travel partner will be going with me. I'll let you know if not. Last year they had 98 boats.

My suggestion is you get a hold of Ashley at WON and let her know you're looking.

Ashley and Billy are doing all within their power to match fishermen up.

Signing up for the tournament and paying the fees ASAP will also give you an edge as a AAA

Ashley is at X38

One of the goals of going back to Lake Roosevelt AZ this year to start the season was to reach out to try and add some new blood to the WON BASS ProAms. Based on what Billy Egan heard immediately after the tournament many of the people who fished our event at Roosevelt were extreemly happy with the way things went and stated they would be fishing our future events. So we are very optomistic right now.

Hopefully we can build on what we did last season at Lake Havasu. The March 26-27, 2011 date gives us a great opportunity for incredible weather and fishing at and incredible fishery that is kicking out 25-lb sacks even now at team tournaments. Last years winner Mike Folkestad had a 29-lb sack on day one and almost broke the WON BASS tournament big bass record at Lake Havasu as well. When you give many of the best pro fisherman time to prepare it usually turns into an incredible competition for everyone involved. We have a good amount of time to promote this tournament, and we really think there will be a great turnout of fishermen for this event.

If you want to sign up and help make this a big bass tournament sign up now with a small deposit. As we all know the more people who commit gets others to do the same. And it is extreemly important for AAA to sign up early. We will get you matched up early, and you can start making your plans and not be scrambling, looking to get in during the final weeks and days. Call Ashley at 949-366-0030 ext 38 if you want to sign up or if you have any questions.

Hopefully see you at Havasu.

All WON Bass tournaments are top notch and with this one being in march at havasu it should get a great turn out and be really fun for everybody! Hope to see you there! Also @ tbob , it was 26.62 not 29.

Hi Billy

Your obviously right about that weight. Billy Egan and Mike Folkestad were both making fun of me today for my little mistake, but it was still one heck of a tournament day.

I know there are a lot of you guys who are really catching some really big bags at Lake Havasu, but Mike seems to think he can do it again too. I'm really looking forward to this event as much as any event we have done in a long time. The DAIWA "Beat Mike Folkestad" award is going to have special meaning as a lot of people have had some really big days on Lake Havasu in the last year or so.

There are a ton of very good sized fish in that lake based on what I hear from the guys in the office. Mike Bohn has a house out there and has been going out there almost every week, often with clients, and every week he brings back photos ofmultiple 20+ lb limits. If Mike Bohn can catch em anyone can ( just kidding...Mike is a good ). But Mike probably is not in the same league with the guys who fish the big pro ams regularly, so it will be very interesting to see what they do on this lake that this year is fishing better than it ever has before.

I honestly think that this lake is so good right now, that with so many good anglers on the lake fishing two days in a tournament format, that there will be a lot of people in contention, a lot of really big bags, and that anyone could win it. It could well be a favorite or big name, or a local or just a good angler who finds his fish. They are good fish in many places so there will be a lot of big bags. With any luck it sould be 80+ degrees in late April and it should be a fantastic place to be if you are a tournament bass fisherman.

@ tbob...An absolute amazing weight it was...Mike is the man anywhere we go thats for sure. We try our best to beat it everytime we go out and keep getting closer but it's crazy how hard it is to break that 26 pound mark! I'll never forget that spanking ! hahah ....This year it could take an ugly amount of weight thats for sure. To many sticks on the water for me to believe otherwise. I hope it's me haha!! Either way it will be a blast. Can't wait

Yes the tourney is March 26th and 27th. The itinerary can be found on the entry form found on our website. Even I have had a 24 pound day out there with smallies. Should be "Off the Hook". See you all at the end of March. Be there next week, scouting things out and getting everything organized for the event.

I stand corrected once again!

We are in the middle of our annual, very large Fred Hall issue this week things are very hectic and I apologize for not checking these facts better before posting. Billy Egan was in just here again making fun of me and needless to say I felt pretty lame with my correction and another big typo.

I will stay completely away from specifc dates, weights, etc. for now and I just hope the point I was trying to make were not lost in the process. Mike Folkstead stopped by our office yesterday to do some work on behalf of his sponsors, and in listening to him it was easy to tell he was fired up about the upcoming Havasu event and the rest of the season. I got caught up in his enthusiasm, and obviously didn't check my facts....twice now !

Anyway, it's going to be a great event according to Mike and others, and the weights should be off the charts. Mike is definitely is looking forward to trying to defend his title.

Perhaps there should be a "Beat Mike Bohn Award" for this event? Maybe a Booyah Flipstah Game? (A very cool game by the way!!)

Note to Bob...send a full pallet!

John

That's would be fun. I guessing that Pradco would give us a bunch of these fairly cheap and I know Mike would get a kick out of doing something like this. Maybe though it should be the "WHO CAN'T BEAT MIKE BOHN AWARD". What would the over-unders number be on beating Mike at Lake Havasu in a Pro Am ?

Seriously, I think Mike Bohn and Pradco would be all over this and we'll see if we can make it happen.

For those that don't know what a FLIPSTAH is, it is an electronic casting game that PRADCO developed a few years ago, much like an electronic dart game that keeps track of your points. It was a $100 game, but I think they are being discontinued by Pradco so they are closing them out and selling them cheaper. I heard John Galbraith talking to Mike about them recently, and I think he will be selling them soon. And I would guess that Rick will probably have some over at his Anglers Marine stores too.
