Check this out.. there has to be a better time to check someone's insurance card, or make it mandatory when you sign up to provide proof.

It's nothing new Josh, they've done it for years. I think they caught Ish that way once too. Their rules say you have to have it in the boat, showing it a registration wouldn't satisfy that.

Im sorry but that is simply ridiculous! How on earth don't you have your insurance information with you? You receive it in the mail, you walk your arse to your buggy, you slip it in with your current reg. form and your done! DONE! for 6-12 months! ( I also make a copy and put one in my truck also )

No, this is not ridiculous I applaud BASS for sticking to the rules as they were written. They were quite clear in the pre-tournament meeting that they will be spot checking the #1 & #2 boats in the BASS Central Open tournaments. He specifically said to all anglers that they should check to make sure it is not an expired insurance card else they will not be allowed to fish until BASS has accurate proof that the angler has the necessary insurance. They would not accept an expired card and had to make sure for their own sake that all anglers are carrying the necessary liability insurance as specified in the rules. Not having the necessary insurance coverage is a violation of the rules and is grounds for disqualification.

BASS.............................. could someone remind me who they are and why they are relevant today on the West Coast. If I remember in the real old days there was an organization that came out here from the East Coast and took a bunch of our money and left with it..Is that who you are talking about..
Who cares if they check insurance info from the East Coast guys anyway... Regretfully they are only a distant memory of what could have been..now they are just has beens.. sigh really

JT I hate to be the one who breaks it to you, but if B.A.S.S. brings the Opens back with the first place angler Winning a Boat, 10 grand plus a Classic berth (min 10k again).JT-Madera wrote:BASS.............................. could someone remind me who they are and why they are relevant today on the West Coast.
