Help Me Understand (Bass Master Classic)
Help Me Understand (Bass Master Classic)
Is it just me or were alot of the competitors on the KVD banwagon flotilla. Why was everybody damnear fishing on top of KVD ,Im just curious isnt there rules as to how close u can fish from your competitor I just think some of these guys are sorry , cant they find there own water is that the only way they can keep up with this guy (KVD) I know hes good but come on I would be severly bothered to have that many people on top of me in the biggest event of the year. Its bad enough u have al the media, fans an on top all these guys that cang find their own water I thought u had to be a certain distance from a competitor just like u cant fish near launch ramps an such . Id like some feedback on your thoughts or am I the only one who feels like this <><

B.A.S.S. does not have a distance rule.

Just to be the devils advocate, what if they (those you feel were encroaching) were the ones to have found those fish before KVD did..It doesn't really matter as KVD still won..

I think Mac might be on to something...
You all get the same spots from the locals, the same waypoints saved on the gps, and the same information from previous results. Guys know the water. I don't know how much I like that they fish on top of eachother like that, but thats the way they choose to play the game. The spots are hard to claim when the only reason someone is there first is blastoff order.

As Mac said "What if Aaron, Brandon, Scott had found those fish first?"
All the other competitors believed that it wouldn't hold up for three days. The conditions were perfect for the spot, but if the weather had stayed cold they wouldn't have caught those fish.
You haven't fished Clear Lake in the spring when the boats are practically rubbing each other in swimbait corner.

Boyd Duckett weighed 12-13 on day one out of Venice, then bust 28+ in sight of KVD and Aaron on day 2.
Re: Help Me Understand (Bass Master Classic)
I believe Scott Rook, who was fishing right next to him, is in fact KVD's roomate. These guys are used to fishing within close proximity of each other. I found the exchange of words between Aaron Martins and KVD on the final day rather entertaining. KVD was quietly going about his biz on Day 1 and 2, but on the final day he started really gettin in their heads by holding those big fish up for all to see and making a little noise. Bottom line is KVD continues to get the job done. He is a smooth operator and thrives on the pressure.

Besides that, the federation guy didn't even know who was in there because of the fog. He just heard voices and then realized who else was in there.

How exactly do you know KVD found those fish first? At that level with no encroachment rules it happens quite regularly regaurdless of who found em.Also if you watched the interview with Aaron Martens at the end of day one Aaron says he wants everyone to know he works hard to find fish and he just launches the boat and goes to work so maybe he found those fish and got encroached on? Also its pretty well known that the area they were in is pretty much a community hole much like Franks Tract and a little internet research on recent tourneys in the area gives the elite guys enough info to get started and refine their areas and patterns.I am not taking anything away from KVD as bottom line is he put em in the box and got it done but at that level and it being the classic and BASS has no encroachment rules what so ever those guys could rub rails and it is legal by tournament rules.

Re: Help Me Understand (Bass Master Classic)
It looks like you guys have figured out why the Elite Series is trying to change up the lakes they go to. Everyone knows the waypoints on the regular stops and it makes for some stressful shoulder to shoulder fishing. I would like to see them fish all new lakes each year.
Re: Help Me Understand (Bass Master Classic)
Thanks for the feedback it all makes sence now I didnt think about the fact that maybe someone else had gotten there first . I just dont understand these guys being able to fish within spitting distance but rules are rules thank u all for the feed back <><

If there is an area with a concentration of quality fish, KVD will be there, and he will catch them! That guy can trigger strikes in seemingly any situation regardless of fishing pressure! That area was getting POUNDED by boats. The Man can trigger strikes to say the least!
