Dobyns G2 765 Flip.

For the price point- the Dobyns G1 734 DX or the Powell 735.
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.

OK, I'll chime in, above mentioned rods are fine rods. But they don't compare to the ... Diawa Steez 7'1" Compile-X (about a 4 power).

For a rod with a little more tip, the Steez SVF Graphite STZ-701MHFB (about a 3 power) is awesome.

These rods are a bit pricey, but you asked for the BEST! :twisted:

KISTLER, KISTLER, KISTLER

Best all purpose rod, what else other than a KISTLER. If I only had one rod I would take my KISTLER He2MHC69, with out a doubt a great rod. Oh and wait, I will be getting my 2010 KISTLER Z-BONE'S in a week or two, so everyone watch out. The KISTLER Z-Bone's are going to be the most advanced rod to come out in a long time. Micro Guides, North Fork Composites Blanks Made by Gary Loomis, Fuji Reel Seats, and Balancing kit. Watch out for the KISTLER Z-BONE'S in 2010.

Delta or Clear Lake would be a 7 foot or longer, 4 power rod.

Foothill lakes, Berryessa, etc. would be a 7 foot or longer, 3 power rod.

Dobyns 736C, not only is it money when throwing Frogs, but it works extremely well with the following techniques;
Flipping/Pitching, swimbaits, mag top water/wake baits, senko's,jigs, carolina rigs, and other power fishing situations.....

It looks like rods in this category are dominating the poll.
I have 8 rods in this category. 6 from Loomis, 1 Dobyns, and 1 Daiwa. They are all great. You can throw almost anything on this type of rod.

I have to echo the Steez Compile X 7'1". That rod can do just about anything. Wacky rigged senkos (caught a 7lb bass at the delta with this technique last year, you can pitch craws with it, carolina rig it, bigger texas rig baits and an excellent jig rod, You can throw heavy spinner baits....this rod is very versatile. It was my favorite rod for the last year but after buying that the NRX 853 I may be moving away from steez rods and to NRX looms rods. Right now I am extremely satisfied with my NRX....I'm saving up money right now to buy another one, they are insanely light and extremely sensitive. If Loomis would have not changed their warranty service, they would have my business excusivly.

O and I love my Dobyns DX 744

all purpose rod............hummmmm.......... I think the best rod for me is the Dobyns Champion 764 cb rm.... Yes i said it...a crankbait rod.. I know it has a lot of give in the tip but then there is always braid to make up for that. I like the fact i can either fish light line like 8 and 10lb line or i can jump up to 15lb. The rod is light enough to even do some med. drop shot stuff and bubba shot, rip, and i have use this rods for senko and 1/2 jigs..... You also got the length to throw your baits a distance incase the spook bite is on.... I got 2 so far....looking to invest in a few more...

Just my 2 cents.. but then it always updates...lol
