Post by SHAFT »

What would you recommend for an affordable rod and reel set up for swimbaits , say no more than $100 for each $200 total !!!

This for a rod, h or xh

And this for a reel, 400 size

On that budget I dont think you can get a better deal.

Do I think its the best setup? No. But for $200, yes.

What Steve said.

Except maybe for the reel I'd go for either a Calcutta TE or a Abu 6500 C4.

Shaft. I have a couple of friends that use the Pflueger reel and like them. But for weight/swimbaits I would go with the Abu C4, they will hold up a lot better, I believe. Bill K :)

I use an Okuma Celilo CE-C-7101 with a Shimano Cardiff 401 that set up should cost you way less that $200
