Cancelled Pyramid tournament Top Stick Rescheduled

Post by John Barron »

After some discussions we have rescheduled yesterday's event to April 3rd. It will still be at Pyramid and all we can do is hope we get good enough weather to fish.

Again I apologize we had to cancel yesterday, it's not something we like to do. It's a good thing we did because it did get even worse than when we were there and the grapevine was closed by the middle of the day, we would have been in a real mess. CHP just reopened it about an hour ago.

To the team that got mad because we did cancel the tournament I apologize. It was the right thing to do. The waves that were washing up on the ramp were just too dangerous to try to launch in. The lake would not have let us launch anyway. I was not going to put some of our lesser experienced boaters in that kind of situation. I don't know who you are but I will be more than happy to apologize in person or on the phone if you will call me.
Thanks
John Barron

yes it was ugly up there. John and I stayed until 6 a.m. since that was the time they were going to open the gate for us to get in and launch. The weather just got worse as we waited and explained to teams who drove up why the tournament was cancelled. All the teams we spoke with understood and were glad we waited to explain that we cancelled the tournament. I would also like to thank John Younce for telling 2 teams that were about to drive up the hill from Castaic that we cancelled the tournament. John is one of my staff members and really went out of his way to explain it to these teams. Great job John.
As John wrote we have found an open date for April 3rd. I hope this works for a lot of you. I looked right away when I got home and found that date and John made all the calls today since I was in an all day meeting at work. This took some teamwork to get done but it is all set and taken care of in just over 24 hours. I hope all of the teams who were going to make it are able to go on the 3rd. I also hope to see a lot of other teams come to Pyramid who did not even leave there house due to the weather. This will be an awesome bite and I hope to see a lot of limits weighed in.
