Looking to join a bass club in the South Bay

Post by mmalinao »

Hey guys,

I want to join a bass club this year and so far the only one I know of is Santa Clara BassBusters and I think there's one in Gilroy, but I don't know the name. When I google search bass clubs some of the clubs listed are no longer around.

Any of you in one and like it?

I live in South San Jose.

Thanks,

Mike

I grew up fishing with Gilroy Bassmasters. Good group of guys with a lot of knowledge.

You also could get a kickboat or float tube and join these guys.

Bass Busters of Santa Clara!

Come by our meeting on Thursday April 7th at 7:30pm. Check our website for directions to IHOP on Stevens Creen Blvd. The Bass Busters have been around since 1969 and still going strong with over 40 active members!

Great group of guys always willing to help each other out on and off the water.
Awesome tournament schedule.
Fun and informative meetings.
Great year end banquet for you and a guest.

If you have any questions, you can call or email Dennis McMaster. His information is on the front page of our website. Also, if you are in the area drop by Mel Cotton's Spring Expo on Saturday/Sunday April 9th & 10th....you can probably run into several of our members during that weekend.

Hello Mike

I am Mike Espinola the secretary of the Bass Classics of Santa Clara Valley we usually meet on the third Tuesday of the month at Denny's in San Jose on Brokaw and First street at 7:00. We are one of the oldest cubs around with young and old members with alot of skills to teach new members. Next month the meeting is early because of the Easter Holiday we are fishing Clearllake on April 16 & 17 at the State Park. SO our meetng is on Tuesday April 12 . You can check us out on the web at www.Bassclassics.org. Thanks Mike

Mike,

I'm Rene with Bassbusters. I've been in the club for about 15 years now.
We do have a very good and fun club. The club is about fishing with friends and learning, competition is there too but it's at a fun level.
We fish for plaques only and have side bets for big fish that is optional.
Cost for tournaments are "share the costs with your boater" (Half expenses, gas, oil, launch, bridge tolls, hotel rooms)

I have met many others from both Gilroy and Santa Clara Bass Classics and they are also a good group of guys.
I don't think you could do wrong in any of the clubs.

I recommend you visit each during one of our meetings, look at the schedule, etc.
Make sure the club is convenient to you.

It's all about getting out fishing and enjoying the sport.
Good Luck,

Rene
