It is fun to see all of the DVL big boys come out of the woodwork and talk like a bunch of surfers whose wave has been encroached on by a bunch of gremmies. I almost feel like I'm not worthy to fish DVL this week because my last few bags were barely 20 pounds! Even the "rookies" beat me. :(

Why not keep the status quo?Maybe NBW can eventually draw 1 paid boat as well.Looks like good business to me,I wish them the best of luck. The days of 40-70 boats every derby are gone, time to try something new

Art... I completely agree with you that some guys that fished last weekend shouldnt have been able to fish.
Personally I think its pathetic that there are guys out there that use these events as a potential cash grab....
I clearly stated that the criteria for these events needs to be lowered and the entry needs to be lowered as well to keep the cash grabbers and sand baggers from being eligible or interested in fishing these events...
I too, saw those names you mentioned at the first 2 rounds of the series and it makes me shake my head in disgust....as I said I think its pathetic.
As I also said, Ive fished with my wife since we first got together 10 years ago when she knew nothing about fishing and we've ALWAYS put our hard earned money up for grabs to fish against the best here in So Cal...i..e. The Grovers, Bill and Troy, The Uribes, Phua, just to name a few studs, whether it was/is at Diamond Valley, Perris, Castaic, Casitas or where ever we have fished over the years. Yeah its been tough on us over the years and we've had our asses handed to us at times especially in the beginning, but, we've also done really good as well.
I also have fished ALOT of tournaments with My bro Barry in the last 2 1/2 seasons and when he started he knew NOTHING about bass fishing, much less tournament Bass fishing yet we still threw our money into the hat and gave it hell..and never gave a single thought to fishing one of these types of tournaments whether it be these or the top stick Joes events..
Ive had a ton of great finishes with Guy, Barry and My wife so Id never even consider fishing this deal just because I had a "not so lucrative season" the prior year...Thats just not how we roll.. Personally I think its a charactor thing... I think the guys that slide into these tournaments under the radar or use the grey area in the rules to their advantage and fish them should be ashamed of themselves..
I believe that these events are a great way to build the sport and introduce some guys to tournament fishing that may otherwise be leary about putting big money up against us sharks.. Do you blame them?

Except for a few bad apples in the bunch, I saw ALOT of teams that belonged fishing last weekend... there were guys that have never fished a tournament, guys that didnt know how to back down the trucks...etc etc... these events are good for those type of teams to help them gain experience and confidence to someday jump into the shark tank...

By the way... I just got off DVL for the 7th day in the last 9 days... Me and Barry will be smoking everyone this weekend and if we dont...oh well!! Theres some trash talk...the guanlet has been dropped... Bring it on Bitches!!!

See everyone out there this weekend

Peace

Is this "grey" area kind of like going 70 to your first spot in the morning?

wasn't this is a "LOWER" entry tournament, not a "ROOKIE" tournament?

I feel stupid and embarrassed for getting hooked and posting on this.
Mike and Lynn, cant wait for the derby on May 1st. Going to try to do it with either my girlfriend or little brother. Should be fun. Good luck to all this weekend. See ya at the one next week.

Look what you started Art. Troublemaker!
Kyle, can I say I'm Cody or dress up like your girlfriend and fish with you? Nobody has to know about it. It will be our little secret.
