BULL SHAD ON DELTA?

Post by WANNA HOOK BIGGIN'S »

Anybody fish the Mike Bucca Bull shad's out on the delta? I see there is a new version #2 out now and was wondering if the medium sink would be better suited to fish on the delta than the slow sink. Any advice on which one I should try to get ......

Thanks

I've thrown it for both stripers & largies in 6". Had a few fish absolutely eat it with almost the whole bait in their mouths. Definitely a bait I keep in the swimbait rotation. On his website, he is recommending 4 power rod but I feel more comfortable using my Dobyns 735C.

I heard the new baits are gonna have floating models. Looking forward to getting some of those!

corrected in edit: I have the 6" sizes.

Total piece of crap. Bait does not work anywhere :D :D If I can slow sales, maybe I can get a few more :D :D All good swimbaits at times are hard to get, these are very hard to come by. Great product.

Sounds like I got a hard to find delta winner with the bullshad. Any thoughts on the medium sink rate VS the slow sink, as far as fishing it on the delta for largemouth and stripers. How do you guy's fish this bait? Mike doesn't give the sink rates on his packaging. I read on a website that the slow sink model had a rate of fall at 6' per 10 seconds. I figure even if the medium sink falls a little faster it might actually help out on the delta environement.

Pretty good endorsements from some very well known bass fisherman, That says something. I'm i'n........

You will love the 5" Golden Shiner out on the Delta, you would be surprised how many Golden Shiners are in the Delta. Fantastic, quality made bait!!

Dont forget the High Power Herring. This is a very similar bait and I recently was given one to try out that has a single hook on top of the bait held in a slot by a magnet, great bait for ticking the top of grass and many colors to choose from. I have both lures and there is a lot of drama over who came out with what first that I wont go in to. I personally think the High Power Herring is a better bait and more durable. The last 2 Bull Shads I have had lost an eye very quickly and one has a joint that swings to one side and wont come back when casted and retrieved killing the action. This is just my opinion and I am ready to get jumped now.

Rich...you're not trying to drag all that drama from that site to this one are you? :D
I have no idea which bait came first and which is better because I've only fished Mike's, but to address the original question...
I have a couple of Mike's baits and I really like both of them. One is a floater and the other one sinks. When bought mine there were only two choices. I would not consider mine a fast-sink and I think it is perfect for all the shallow water I fish on the Delta.
Hope that helps.

Maybe I got a couple bunk baits I know it happens but 2 in a row is enough to sour me. Especially if I am asked to pay to ship them back.

I got banned from that forum for keeping it real and letting the one who calls everyone Poser know that I know he is a Poser. Turns out there are ways around being banned and I made a couple grand selling his baits that I wont fish no more. Lets just say I should have heeded others warnings as to who is running the infomercial and at what lenghths they will go to so they can stay the KING POSER.
