ATTENTION NOR-CAL BASS ANGLERS (Too little too late)

ATTENTION: The Nor-Cal Bass April 9th scheduled event on New Melones has been cancelled due to the lack of a federal budget. The U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation has closed the lake and cancelled all events until further notice.

We will attempt to acquire a permit for a later date and announce it as soon as possible. Our next event on Don Pedro May 14th will take place as scheduled. We will look to get a permit for later in May for an available motherlode lake to hold our 6th event of the year.

By the way, no federal budget and our service men receive no pay, but our president and elected officials continue to get their paycheck! Isn't that special!

9:00 PM UPDATE: Just received call from the Bureau to let us know we could have our tournament tomorrow now the the government shutdown has been averted. A little late now that we have canceled our event due to their knee jerk reaction. In typical fashion the local field office shuts down the lake before they even knew what the outcome of the budget vote would be. Obviously this decision was made at the local level with no concern on how it affected the public. They just arbitrarily canceled our event as well as running campers and fishermen out of the park.
