Berryessa Skier's Cove

Post by Sumo »

We were fishing Berryessa on the south end in Skier's Cove and it had signs posted "Permit Only" so the question is, Permit for Skiing or for both Skiing and fishing? I know dumb question but it would be even dumber if I got a ticket or something. :D

As far as i know, that is a private club ski facility, so i would assume that it's required to have a permit to use the facilities; not to fish.

You shouldn't be restricted from access.
But as usual, my assumptions are probably wrong and someone with the correct information will inform us.

Hope not!

Thank you for your response. I now have clarification on the subject. I just received a call from the Bureau of Reclamation on the cove and was advised by Mr. Jim McCracken that the area is always open to fishing with the exception that when high speed skiing competitions is occurring safety is the main concern for both skiers and others so it is off limits until the competition is completed. Thanks for your responses. :D
