Lowrance has just released a new update chip. If you are around the Hook Line & Sinker in Oakley stop by and I can update you unit for you, it only takes a few minutes.

seems like a lot of guys are having problems with the 4.0 software... im no too sure i want to upload it ? dont feel like sending back my hds7 for 3 weeks if there is a problem ? and dont want to upload the software and have my screen go dark, or keep shutting down....

I updated mine and have no issues. It was hard getting on to the SD card from the computer . Took about 10 times and 2 calls to lowrance to get it on the chip.

Zero problems for me. no problems putting image on SD card, and no issues updating my 8 and 10..

no problems for me. loaded on the card just fine and worked perfect @Diamond last week. I noticed the speed of the mapping now keeps up even if you have it zoomed in. Great update!

aerospace engineer and i cant figure out how to get the chip to load properly... go figure!!

gonna try uninstalling it and downloading it again. the chip shows the file but the HDS will not automatically update. my computer is also a POS.

try running the file on your computer before you put it on the sd card.

i got it to work...

you need to download the file to your SD card WITHOUT using any subfolders. At first I created a subfolder on the SD card and the graph didnt open it properly booting up. FYI You can use ur navionics chip to to the update. Just switch the tab from "LOCK" and load the files direct. Make sure u delete it when ur done otherwise it will reinstall the update everytime u boot up ur graph. make sure u DONT delete the folder titled Navionics

I updated mine last week, it wouldn't update my SD card to the 4.0 until I removed the 2 previous updates, I had no problems loading in on my units.

Gene, Is this update only for hds units? I just have the 332c with navionics chip and hot map so the way I read this updating my chip is not involved, correct ? Thanks ken
