This sounds like a fun event, this was the best time of the year to fish Big Bear from my experience when I lived there.

It will be fun. Prespawn bite, main lake water temp mid 50's with warmer 58-59 in protected/shallower areas in the afternoons. The little cold fronts seem to be keeping the temp down and I don't expect to see any spawning till sometime in june (very normal for the lake). Aaron scheduled this thing many months ago (and got his permit), and I know he checked all tourney orgs to make sure it didn't coincide/confilct with other "area" tourney's (other than maybe 1), especially any silverwood events. The Wounded Warrior event is a good one but I don't think when he grabbed this date that there was any info out on that yet. He wanted to schedule it when the fishing would be at it's best and I think he's accomplished that.
I just hope that anyone that wants to check out the fishing up here will give it a shot. The numbers are up, size is up and the fishing resembles what was available over 10 years ago. It's that good! Mwd has done and excellent job restoring the fishery. Weather the next three days will be cool (about 50 dgs.) then nice warm weather (60's) for friday and saturday. They'll be biting! Hope to see a few of you up here saturday! It's from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. so you don't need to leave your house at o' dark thirty to get here and you can be down the mountain before it gets dark. He's put alot of thought into this (as well as his own cash). Good fishing to all!
p.s. as a reminder, Big Bear Lake has NO MOTOR RESTRICTIONS! so you guys that can't get on D.V.L with your rigs CAN FISH Big Bear! The lake is also full (spilling over the dam), and it's quite beautiful.
