Be careful, we went in there this last week and someone had placed some concrete rip rap with re-bar sticking up just inside the entrance I think just to do a little damage to any boat that might not be paying attention. It was just inside the entrance of LM with about six inces of water over the top of it, we entered just about mid incoming tide.
We were in a aluminum hull tracker so it only scratced us up a bit but watch out with a glass bottom.....

Good Luck!

There is actually two ways in. Those trees are all around the perimeter and also in rows that separated the different fields that were there. There is also what once was a lake there. It drops about 5 feet around its edges and is a very distinct drop almost all the way around.

If your lucky you can find the 30' hole that is in there.

Those trees are your friends. hint hint

There are probably close to 25 openings around the perimiter of Lil Mandy right now. Many of which, you can idle over with the motor trimmed up and on yer t-motor power, at a high tide. Others are impossible to pass thru and may only have a foot or less of clearance, even on the highest of high tides. There are two deeper openings, one at the east end and another up along the north corner, that ya can come in and out during a low tide. I suggest ya go over there and investigate both openeings on a low tide. You will clearly see precisely where the "vee" trough is for passing in each of these two openings. You will also see which of the openings that are suspect to passing thru. Although I see a lot of guys passing thru with their motors down and in gear, I always recommend to pop it in nuetral, tilt the motor and pass thru with caution, no mater what the tide or which opening ya chose to pass thru.

Yeah just be careful and check it out on low tide just to b safe. I saw a guy nail one of the posts out by the hilton property one year sounded like he ripped his whole motor off.

..... You want to go in for your first time at a LOW TIDE as everyone has said to see all the tree's/orchard crops for the first time to mark them not only mentally - and create way-points to follow on your GPS thru the clear sections.

Also where you think you are safe in deep water - there is a concrete slab that can bite you on the south end near/arond the gravel hole. Again - thankfully i found it at a low tide visually the first time - and marked it on the GPS. There is a pipe with a gate valve in the open position with the sem protruding on the north bowl as well - about 30'40' off of the levee and in 3'7' of water depeding on the tide = and there is grass all around it to make it harder to spot visually.

Lil Mandy is safe - Once you know what you are doing in there. And I only enter/exit from the same opening on the NE opening - and hug it to the south side of the broken levee.
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.
