Yamamoto Big Bass

Post by Gene Buchholz »

The Yamamoto Big Bass Challenge is less then two week away. The Hook just received a bunch of spinner baits, buzz baits, poppers and I can't tell you how much more.
If you haven't heard they are allowing the Pheinx vibrating jig (chatter bait) to be used because Yamamoto sells them.
The Hook has a lot of them and more coming in, If you want to use them get them know because Phenix is not producing them.
Ron Colby from Yamamoto will be delivering another order this week Thursday or Friday.
The Hook Line & Sinker will be raffling off a round trip airline ticket any were in the Continentle USA (that Southwest flys) to anyone purchasing $100.00 or more from the Hook Line & Sinker and is fishing the Yamamoto Big Bass. You can purchase on line or in person. Ticket donated by Dan and Kathy Daniel.
Sign up early it's going to be fun.

And for those of you who don't know or have not been down to the Hook, Gene carries the largest and most unique selection of Senko, versus any retailer in the country. He has in his inventory, the largest array of "Custom Special" Senkos, than even Yamamoto has in their catalog. For many years now, Gene has catered to the angler's requests and brought in colors in the various bait sizes, even I go in there and stare in amazment and feel like a kid in a candy store! One of those bags on his shelf, could be the key to a $12,500+ pay day in this event, not ta leave out your fish of a life time on yer next trip out fishing.

I have been ask if you can change the skirts on the vibrating jig, spinner bait or buzz bait and yes you can as long as it is a Yamamoto or Phenix product. I have about100 vibrating jigs in stock and almost 200 more on the way.We will be giving out samples of Yamamoto product next Friday at the Hook when you pre sign.
I will also have a case of special Yamamoto product for sale that day first come first serve.

You can use other brands of skirts but the base product must be Phenix or Yamamoto.

Come in to the Hook in Oakley this week end and we will pay the SALES TAX!!

Just so we clear up any confusion here, you will not be allowed to change the skirt of the Yamamoto Spinnerbait or Buzzbait with a third party skirt. You can however, replace the skirt on any of these baits, with the Yamamoto skirt collar or add any Yamamoto plastic as a trailer.

I noticed that there is a Junior Division. I am planning to bring my 7 yr old son for the second day. Do I have to pay a full $100 entry for him. I thought I saw something about a $20 entry for a kid? Thanks for any help

@ DeeJay, you can find complete information in regards to the Open on the Angler's Press Website:
anglerspress . com

@Micheal, the junior division is a one time fee for the Kids, their catch will not be eligable for the primary event awards but are eligable for their own seperate awards. Not knowing what the numbers will be for this Jr participation, we won't have any details until the event of exactly what those prizes will be. I have a call into Vince right now and will post some further info on this division upon my return to the house tonight.

Jr Program update.....

Post by Cooch »

Any kid 15 years and below is eligable for the Jr Division. All Jr entrants are fishing seperate from the main event. The $20 fee, covers both days of fishing. The Jr is only allowed to weigh one fish each day, at any time during the event. A Jr. Champion trophy and additional prizes will be awarded after the final weigh-in on Sunday at the awards ceremony.

Thanks Jon
You can launch and start fishing at 4:00am each morning. You MUST, get a livewell check at the dock or the top of the ramp prior to starting each day. If you arrive at the finish line and have not received a confirmed livewell inspection, your catch will be DQ'd. You can get a livewell inspection and return to fishing if this occurs. It is solely your responsibility to assure that you get your livewells checked prior to fishing and that first trip to the scales. At the finish line, there will be an official Atomic clock as well as the official referee, further details will be explained and discussed during your check-in and registration process.
