Russo's Marina

Post by bryanw80 »

How long should it take to drive to Russo's, pulling a boat, from Roseville? What is the best way to get there? Thanks

I also live in Roseville, Ca. I take I-80 to I-5 south then take highway 12 towards rio vista. Then make a left on highway 160 south. Then your in Oakley, then take Highway 4. From there it's a lot of lefts and rights I would print out directions on map quest you can get lost pretty easy. It takes about 2 hours doing 60mph on the highway. If fishing a tourney give your self 3 1/2 plus hours before safelight to be safe, if you have to check in. Also I would get gas the night before so you do not have to worry about that. It's a drive, bring plenty of stuff to eat and drink on the way home. I do. Good luck!

What they said but once on 160 , you have the option to launch at Brandon Island state park, takes about 10 to 15 min by water from there. I do this when I have a tournament out of Russo's. State park launch ramps are easy if your by yourself. I have a state park pass, no toll crossing and only one red-light at the junction of hwy 12 and hwy 160. In the winter time I do make the drive to Russo but this time of year the early morning boat ride is nice way to wake up and gather your thoughts.

Forgot about seeing the sign about the road closers, You could also go down Hwy 80 to Hwy 113 in Dixon, then North on Hwy 12 to Rio Vista. or take Hwy 160 out of Sac but that is a Curvy delta road avg speed pulling a boat is 40 mph

I live in Dixon and in the early morning it take me just over an hour to get to Russo's, during the day you can add about 30 more minutes.
+1 on the Brannon Island thing, I launch there and boat to Russo's all the time, saves alot of time, traffic, gas and bridge toll.

I agree with what you are saying about easy, except when the wind blows you take a beating going and coming. Also the problem is if you are not familar with the area, early in the morning low lite, that creates a lot of problems. I would advise that you take the bridge if you are not familar with the water route. and be sure you get their on time no stress. at least the first time till you have explored the water route during day lite.

Another option is launch either at B & W or Korth's both on Mokl River and goes into channel. From there you shoot across and into Frank's Tract and into Russo's. Takes about 10-15 min to run across.plus that 5 min idling over to Russo's.
