Mounting Trolling motor on small boat?

I have a small 15 ft fiberglass boat that I want to put a bow mount trolling motor on. The front deck has about 18 1/2 inches of area to put the trolling motor mount. I'm wondering if that is enough space for a Minn Kota edge foot control trolling motor.

Is that enough room on the front deck to mount that type of mounting bracket or am I going to have to use a Minn Kota Powerdrive?

Just looked at my motorguide 56 # thrust and the mounting bolts are 15 inches apart. Total length os over 18 1/2 inches. Total length is 23 inches so you would has some hangover but you would have enough length to be securely mounted. The picture shows smooth spot rectangle in shape on the bow and looks like a great place to but a trolling motor. Question really is will you have a place to mount the foot control for ease of use?

Thanks for the info. I'm really glad I asked cause I almost bought the powerdrive and think I may have been disappointed.
