Hes holding it out towards the camera, the ole fish trick for bigger appearance. Its a nice rattler though, I'd kill that bastard on site, biggest I have ever seen (and I've seen a lot) is 5 plus feet!

Ok Cooch, whats the scenerio now when you see one of these freakin monster serpents coming over the rail there in sandmound.
I know if it were me someone would be fishing some stained water in that area after I left the boat and swam to shore. har

I was born and grew up in Texas and I have seen my share of rattlers and never have I seen one that big ! The biggest I ever seen was in Hutto, Texas we were at my moms friends house and they lived in the sticks, anyway Im sitting on the dog house and Roy (moms friend husband) comes over holding a rifle and tells me to jump and run ! So I bail and he flips the dog house over and blows this 8' rattle snakes head off. Seen tons of 4 and 5 footers fishing the stock ponds in Texas I would walk hear a rattle and go the other direction They dont want to waste thier venom on you but the will strike if stepped on or threatened.

But on the other hand if that rattler is real would make one big BELT or nice pair of boots LMAO

In my life time, I have seen a few over 6' and heard of them 7' or more..Those between 5 and 6' are fairly common in North Texas as well as other parts of the States..Here in California, I haven't seen one that reached 6' yet, but have run into a few over 5'..
