Certainly you could start the discussion on the tournament forum here. Or link to one particular blog I'm familiar with off the WB homepage. :)

Bassimus: Thank you very much, but I'm just one of many in the network. I could not stay for the Sunday meetings, so I can't verify an actual number, nor was I privy to a pairings chart. I believe sign-ups were being allowed to the very last minute, and some pros I spoke with estimated as many as 115 boats could participate. Somebody knows, just not me. I'm anticipating a live blog on wonews.com around 2 p.m. or so. That has been the WON BASS method the last couple of summers. It should be interesting, no matter what.

There are now 112 boats on the water, and on there way to make history at the 2011 US Open. Boats where launched at 5:15 AM this morning without a hitch. We will try and post the pairings as soon as we can manipulate the software to do so. The mood was very upbeat at today's launch, and it will be very interesting to see how today's weather pattern effects the bite. Weight-in's will start at 2:00 PM with our first flight of 14. We have a total of 8 flights for this years tournament, to ensure that the fish are properly handled and safely returned to the water. Keep your eyes posted for further information on our Won Bass website. We have a blog currently.

Aaron Martens is in the lead with 12.98-lbs . There is a huge pack right behind in with a lot of 9 and 10 lb sacks. Aaron had a nice 3.52 big fish. Big fish of the day was a 4.4 smallmouth by 13 year old AAA Carson Simms. Dave Peltier and Yasuhiro Okuda just came in with an 11.07 limit. Blog is up and there will be full updates later. I will put something up here too.

How is there not better coverage of this? For such a huge tournament with so much history, all it gets is a sporatic blog? No stream? Live leaderboard? I'm just wondering why?

Give the staff a little time to get all the loose end tied together
.
There were I think 13 or 14 flights that started weigh-in at 2pm.
It's been 110+ all day and usually on the first day the staff is on-site setting up.

The host hotel is over an hour away from Calville.

Give the guys& gals time to pick up, get back to the hotel and post the standings.

In the mean time, they are working with Nevada Game and Fish on how things went to protect the fish in the heat as well as working with the pros and aaas that are having a hard time finding connecting with each other for day two. Who knows how many fishermen dropped out and have to be "re-paired" with new partners for day two.

Lots to do, and where Calville is located is like no other place in the US.

The link to the results is right on the wonbass.com home page and has been up for hours. Record numbers of people have seen the results and have been to our site all month and especially the last few days. Today the numbers are larger than last year with the cheating scandal, so the US OPEN is obviously in the minds of a lot of people this year.

There there are some other considerations and reasons to get back to the hotel as quickly to get things posted at the hotel for the fishermen who want to know where they stand. They do not all have computer access. They are the top priority during the event and they deserve to see the results as quickly as possible. We had it up on the internet by around 6:30 PM last night and posted at the hotel about then too.

The partner pairings for today is up on the won bass website if anyone is interested. Someone was asking about it here, so I am trying to head off a complaint. It's "moving day" today, so it should be interesting.

It would be sweet to see Boris win it all. Little Joe is up there as well and I'd love to see him take it also.

This is it! It's going to be a close finish and the weights are impressive for "Mead!"
Not much controversy this year. Good.
I'd also like to see Joe Jr. get the win.

BTW: I hope they keep the US Open at Lake Mead!

Lots of them. It's best to check the WON Bass website for the live blog they have going. There is a lot of movement and early reports of varied techniques used to catch them today.

I have been checking, but the last update is 45mins old and the weigh in is most likely over already.

The Last flight is starting to weigh in now.

Edit: My dad (Boris Antolos) just weighed in a bag over 10 pounds for a 3 day total of 30 and some change. I think Martens is leading right now and Klein still has to weigh in.

Aaron Martens wins his 3rd WON BASS US OPEN. Great angler. Congrats to him and his family. Also great job, Boris, Little Joe, John Morrow, Kyle and all the other survivors. That is a great derby. Rick G.

What a great ending. Loved reading the blog. Bob your staff has done a great job with all the info as well as the full length stories. Love the one about the Nitro being sold right from the casino. Won Bass had a great draw as well as great coverage. Wish I could have been there to fish saw some great guys from the past fishing this year.

Thanks Ray,

It's like most a lot of good things in that it is a ton of long days, with things not always going as planned all the time, and everyone trying to make things appear to be perfect.

If you want to hear something really cool live on this site. I will give WB.com this first, and it's something very cool I just now heard by test.

At the awards banquest we are having a charity raffle for the Wounded Warrior. We have a signed jersey from KVD and you buy tockets for a couple bucks and you can win it, and all the money goes to Wounded Warriors.

Carson Sims, the 13 year old kid from Texa, won one of the 15 big bass $1,000.00 checks on the first day. When he came up to accept it he donated the $1,000.00 to the Wounded Warriors at the awards banquet. The place went totally nuts.

So many great stories, and twist and turns this year it's hard to explain how fun it was for us. This is how bass fishing tournaemnts are suppose to go, and it was fun to be a part of it.

Congrats Bob on a great success this year with the Open. Your staff has really gone full bore and made this a huge success this year in my opinion.

Great job to all involved in this tournament. Kudos go to all the anglers who fished it as well.
"The US Open" and yet, very skimpy media attention on a national level. Why?
It'll be interesting to learn about the techniques and baits used during the derby.
