Hey Eric, too many to keep up with now. I'm sure I'll see you at the next one. This looks like it will be a pretty good home to hang out in.

Ray, Please tell me you got my Entry Form.

Hey guys

Post by John Barron »

I'm going to be putting together some summer trips to different lakes. Some will be father/son or daughter trips some will be husband/wife stuff and some will be "let's go play one and all"
So watch for the announcements.

I got the word about this site from Gary. I like the layout and John I like the idea of father/son-daughter outings. Looking forward to them and the many updates to come.

How are you Eric?

One of the things I miss the most about home

Post by John Barron »

When I lived in Central California there were several lakes within easy driving distance for me. Millerton, Pine Flat, Naci, San Anton, Margarita or Lopez were all within 2 hours worst case. And I fished them all including Don Pedro, McClure and even Comanche. If you have fished these lakes you know what I'm talking about when I say diversity. These lakes cover the gamet of finesse fishing to power fishing.

I miss the fact that I don't have that convenience of variety. That's one of the reasons Top Stick Format was so attractive to me, you can't be a one lake wonder, versitility is key.

So what I want to do is two fold. Introduce or get the younger group more involved in fishing and promote family outtings. I want to take a group to Lopez in late spring and Margarita in the Summer and somewhere else in early fall. Something not real competitive yet fun for Dad's as well and give those that don't get the chance to fish different lakes at least the opportunity.

I just hope we get enough interest to get a decent participation for camp outs and fireside stories and fishing.

Hi John,

Great site, and great ideas. I have a 7 year old son that's just crazy about any fishing, and especially bass fishing. We love to camp also, and would gladly participate in your family events if we have enough notice.
I'm current president of a small bass club in the AV and have already sent this site out to all them members, and will promote your family events as well.
Here's a couple of pics from Lopez and Margarita from last April. My son and I caught 7 fish in 8 casts off of 1 point alone!

Hey Kevin

Thanks for the pictures. I'm really looking forward to coming home and spending some time on the Central Coast lakes this summer. I hope you can join us when we do this. It will be a very limited field like ten boats but we will do it more than once. Mostly lakes are Margarita and Lopez to start with. I hope the "add an image" button makes it easy for you to post the pictures, it sure seems to be.
Hope to see you soon.
