Re: Anyone looking for a job?
I’ve worked for ITT going on 13 years now and I can say that it is one of the best companies around. Even though the economy was crappy they still managed to give us a 4% bonus for X-mas while other companies were laying people off.
Kelly, FYI when times are good we get 9% for x-mas. I’m not sure if that will ever happen again but it could.

Shane,
Kelly is one of the finest Machinist around. I worked with Kelly for about 8 years, We worked (I still do) for Raytheon in their Space division and Kelly would machine most of the parts we made. Unbelievable stuff with super tight tolerances, If you can get him, it will pay off.

Re: Anyone looking for a job?
Not one word................They have to think about what level of expertise thay are looking for was what HR told me
. In the mean time I am employeed...the best position from which to negotiate.....Unless your outta work and will work for .25 an hour I pray for you all ....
Sorry Prez. Clinton sold American manufacturing down the road and it has been left in such a mess that two presidential terms will not turn it around. Nice to see after the automotive bailout that those AMERICAN companies continue to out source rather than keep it here in the States...I figured they had to buy Ameican with those bucks
but sadly not so...Even though Toyota and Nissan's plants in America DO keep the work here based on quality and other issues....I am sure that ITT needs help they just need time to decide what and where like all big companies nothing moves fast...except the price of gas....

Re: Anyone looking for a job?
Well that sucks. We’ve had that position open for probably 6 months now. It makes me laugh when I hear that we need personnel with higher skill sets and then turn around and tell the guys applying that they are over qualified. I know they didn’t tell Kelly this but I’ve heard it in the past.
It’s almost as bad as when we said we would hire experienced aerospace manufacturing engineers and turned around and hired greenhorns (junior engineers).
Well I hope wherever this ends up, it works out in your favor. If I had more influence I would use it but I don't.
And yes you are right about the slow process with the bigger companies. ITT is no different.

Re: Anyone looking for a job?
Appears ITT has a hiring freeze on Shane. Why would HR ask me to fill an application and then 3 weeks later freeze????? I wrote them 3 days ago and called today came home to an e-mail..... Well thanx anywho pardner
...I know you'll be the last to know when that might go away
but they did say they had everything in case there was a change...
....At Least I'm working now!....get to play in titanium all this week....Tomorrow 150 drilled and reamed .024 holes through 1/8 flat stock that's 99.8 pure....gummy and strong.
..Gotta love it who- whoooo...oh yeah they are being cheap so I have to go 5 diameters through it with HSS.
Have a great weekend..

Re: Anyone looking for a job?
The word on the floor is that Boeing has pushed back two months worth of work to the end of their contract. This along with some other issues has us short 3 million for the first quarter. I’ll find out more next week……Sorry Kelly
