Casitas 12/6
I have been out the last three weeks in a row and I have not been able to boat more than 2 fish on each of these trips. Jig fish and dropshot early with no spoon fish on 12/6...I fished big swimbaits ( Nate Bait ..etc. ) with no sucess to speak of. I lost one last week because of circumstances beyond my control and was hoping to get that fish to eat this Sunday but not even a follow. I fished really hard but to no avail....Hopeful that the storms change the bite...Could it be worse? Water was dingy with 2 foot viz and was 61 degrees +-...Shad are very deep and shallow at the same time....It seems the eaters are on the bank> 15 foot...with there being no reaction bite what so ever.

Same story here Kelly. I was there 11/27 and 12/5, 2 fish both days, all in 15' or less. Metered shad from 5'-80', some bait with larger fish mixed in that would not touch anything. 2 of the 4 fish came from right up against a steep wall on the west side of the island as soon as the worm hit the water. Caught a 3.25 pounder that was 20.5 inches long and skinny but healthy. Had a head of a 5 pounder and a body like a striper. It's got to get better soon.

Boy... I don't feel so bad now. I was there on 12/7. Got a great blowup on a big BBZ1 but lost it. After that nada. No reaction bite, no jig bite, and no creature bite. i hope it picks up. It was REALLY cold when I got there in the morning. I metered shad really deep also, and the one I had on was in about 7 feet of water.
I came. I caught. I released. Life is good! -Saul-

All I can say is Don't give up on those big baits Saul! You'll stick a LARGE MOUTH. I don't know guys I hate to say this in print but I think it all boils down to shade. I am getting my fish in those really crawdaddy like clay soil spots on the banks that are in between rock. Not on the clay but to the side at the transition to rock in like 15 feet or less. Always in the shade and not on the sunny banks....also mainlake or nothing... I had a jig fish and a dropshot fish in two casts and that was it. After I caught the jig fish I KNEW there was another fish there and I KNEW where it was and what it wanted. Oxblood lite red flake 6 inch wacky dropshot. The jig fish was a brown variant ....I'm color blind so some of my jigs are colorful to say thew least. It was like a skeet secret color and was only 3/8 oz. with a big ol' paca chunk on it....I hope my wrist feels better buy Saturday because I'm supposed to take Oliver ( owner of ) of Hooked Up Tackle fame out for a day of swimbaits only. Sound like fun? Sounds like Ron's first HBC to me.....At least I'm fish'n. I can try out my new Cabela's Guidewear.

Sounds good to me, Kelly! Be sure to let us know how you do. I am going to have to breat out my Natebait too. I couldn't stop throwing the 10" BBZ after the one hook up though. I thought about switchin, but couldn't bring myself to removing the other.
It sure is fun to have them hit those big baits!
