folsom lake or oroville?

Post by bassinwannabe »

I plan on taking my wife and son out tomorrow on the boat. What Lake of these 2 would you suggest and how/where to fish at?

TIA

You will catch more fish right now on oroville.Launch at lime saddle go left till you get to the logs set up to stop the debris(you cant really go any farther)fish from there back up the arm using dart head and worms. Should be a good time.

Try a green pumpkin tube as well.. drag it slow! I found success on banks facing southwest or back towards the dam! Meaning cast with your back to the dam in the opposite direction. The fish were in 5-15 feet a week ago!

The fishing was terrible at best on oroville. Went out from Lime Saddle Fished from the logs back for about 3 1/2 hrs, only 2 bites no fish. Seen a few Bass Boats but it looked as if no one was catching anything. Finally gave up and tried some live worms and at least my wife caught a keeper trout. I think I would have had better luck @ Folsom

Thats fishin'. Unfortunately the fish decide when they are going to bite. Who's to say the fishing would have been better anywhere else. For shear numbers, the spots at Oroville are hard to beat. I've seen tough days out there, but I've also seen 100 fish days.

Anglers can only give their best recommendation as to where is the most probable place for you to get the bites... the rest is up to you and the fish.

I did not say anything about the advise that was given only that it was a dissapointing day on the Lake. I fish every weekend when the weather permits and have had MANY MANY bad days. I was merley posting feedback on my day, no where did I mention it was ALL there fault for telling me to go to Oroville. A day on the Lake is better then a day in the office no matter how many fish I don't catch :D
