drop shot rod and line on the delta
What size rod and line is everyone using on the delta for drop shot rig?
Thanks
Thanks

7' MH Lamaglass 10lb McCoy
Re: For me...
6.5' Med weight/Fast action rod with 8# or 10# Stren florocarbon. I prefer to use a baitcaster. I go with a lighter rod so I can cast more small weights more accurately.

Re: For me...
I use a 6' 6" med action bait caster. Im not to particular about the brand of flourocarbon. But I never use less than 10lb test on the delta or anywhere else for that matter. Hope this helps.

Re: For me...
I'm used to dropshotting 5lb line. Japanese stuff sugui and sunline. I have never d-shotted the delta but I think the japanese line is alot stronger and much more low vis....of course when that 12 lb big bass of the tournament hits i would sure like to have 10# on...haha

I use 10# Vanish Transition Florocarbon with a Loomis PR8400C 7' med./light with ex-fast action. I just ordered the new Quantum Tour Edition PT PTS705FMW Mike Wurm Signature Series rod. It has a little more power with glass filled nylon rings in the handle which provides constant contact with the rod blank. This will give you ultimate sensitivity for those suttle bites.

I use 2 setups depending on what kind of cover I'm casting into.
Loomis DSR820S with 8 lb Toray fluorocarbon
Kistler Helium HE70MC with 14 lb Sunline fluorocarbon

I used to use the Shimano Crucial dropshot rod and had mixed feeling on it. I like a stiffer tip and felt the crucial was too soft. I have since switched to a Lamiglas Drop shot special 2 with yozuri hybrid anywhere from 4 to 10lb test. Been experimenting with 6lb P-Line xtra strength. Jury still out about that though.

For drop shoting on the delta I use my pitching rod. 6'6" medium heavy with 17-20 pound Floro. I pitch/flip the rig just like I would a jig or texas rigged worm. I use a 6-12 inch drop and a 1/4oz-1/2oz mojo weight depending on the depth I am fishing and the fishes' activity level.

i have a lamiglass 704cx. this rod has a very nice and soft tip. lots of power for fighting stubborn fish. i can throw smaller sammies, texas rigged worms and spider jigs just fine. drop shot 'n has been a blast on this rod. their is not a beat i miss.
my reel of choice is a 50 mg whick seems kinda pricey, but w/ weight being a factor and the fact i work in retail i need to save my wrist, carpotunel is not nice.
i would recommed this rig...o my line of choice for this set-up is 10lb cxx pline.
i use this rig everywhere i go.
