Lake Silverwood 9-25-11

Is on fire. Shad everywhere. caught a ton of fish today in the morning on the bank. Later in the day fished the weedline and just a little deeper. Jig and craw baits, DS and scrounger heads. Haven't been to the lake since march and had a great day. Boated about 30 fish, big fish today went 5.25. Lake lice wasn't tooo bad. I can't wait for the cold weather jig bite! It's nice getting away from DVL every once in a while.

Hey pops big stick should have never showed me that area! ahah. Get up there this week. Cleghorn and miller wasnt as good as the other side of the lake, you guys should go up this week.

They also excepted a DVL tag, so we didn't need to get re-inspected.

Garrett, I was there also yesterday... didnt do as good as you though as I only boated 12. My best of the day was 3.25. Were are the big ones hiding?

in the morning we caught a 4lber and a few 2-3's on the bank. I caught the 5lber in about 20' in the weeds at about 2pm. all on the dam side of the lake.

I think I saw you guys out there in the am. I had a pretty decent crankbait bite going in the morning thru 11am. But no joy on the topwater (at least where I was positioned).

Quick question for you that I haven't been able to get answered anywhere else... Are there crayfish in lake silverwood? I have never seen any or any evidence of them and the staff at silverwood don't seem to know what a crayfish (crawdad) is. I know there are some in the Mojave river downstream of silverwood lake. Also an extensive internet research has returned nada on the subject.

tons of crawdads in that lake. years ago I got a 25+ lb stripper and decided to open up its stomach after I filet it. I found some gigantic crawdad claws in there, like 3-4 claws. Plus i've always caught fish year round on the jig.

Where you in the champion on the long point coming off the beach area? That jetskier was all in your buisness. We were in a white with green stripe nitro with a 200xs

Yeah, that was me in the Champ. The jet skier was ok. In fact, I think he improved the bite. I would speed up my crank bait when ever he went by and 20% of the time I would get bit. Maybe the bass thought the shad were running away from the noise. Dunno.

yes.. hopefully billy plains can get the region pumpin' this year! Now having a combined region with Perris hopefully some new boats will come.
