Bass fishing meeting @ C&C in SAC

Guys we are having a meeting at C&C in Citrus Heights at 6 PM on this Thursday night the 17th. I have an idea that could possibly change tournament fishing here in the west for us. Will it work ?? That's what we are going to decide. All are welcome and bring a friend. If this group believes in the idea, there will be several more meetings scattered everywhere. Please try and attend if the timing works for you.

The few guys that I've talked with, please keep it quiet so we have a fair shot at the meeting. Thanks guys!!

Thanks skeeterman. I promise it's a great idea...but can we all make it work?? We are going to find out. I've talked to about 20 guys. Only one guy says it won't work. This is something that does not require 100% of fishermen onboard ( it would be awesome ) but if even 30-40% that's a lot of fishermen.

I think I have a little bit of an idea as to what this meeting is about and if im right, fisherman owe it to themself and the sport to atleast have a listen!

Yes Marty very short notice. If this idea is positive and the meeting goes well, there will be several meetings starting next week.

Brian I would love to have impute from the Southern guys. This first meeting is a fact gathering meeting for an idea I have. It's simple and straight forward. If these guys agree and don't shoot me, I will be coming down south to talk in person with you guys. Honestly, starting here because it's close and this will determine if the idea is worth a damn. So far I have talked with more than 20 guys, 1 said it would not work. We don't need 100% of the guys behind it 50% will be a grand slam homerun.

Seems like you have it covered. Active players such as Billy Egan, Hutch, Lynn Peterson, Linehans who are with the more priemier tourney orgs should be great representatives for the South.

Whatever it is I hope it works out!

Look forward to seeing those that make it. If fishermen get serious and want to do something............who knows what might happen. There are a bunch of us with many different "job" skills. The problem with today's fishermen....most are lazy and would rather stand on the side lines and point fingers. My thoughts go much farther than any of the circuits we have. I am not saying don't fish them, I will be fishing them myself. We have some pretty creative anglers here in the west. We also have some out of work that just might make a project out of this idea. Just think about this. What state has the most population? What state is looked hard at for major companies sales numbers? Where do major companies target ? How many out of the industry sponsorships are brought to our tournament organizations by FISHERMEN? This is a fact finding meeting only. I hope some of you can spare an hour or two and help kick this idea around. If I had to run with this idea, I'd be scared to death. I happen to know some creative, smart guys

Tonights meeting went well. We got off track a few times but it was very positive. We had 40 guys show up. Pretty cool on short 2 days notice. I would like to thank the guys for coming and their inpute in the meeting. I've always been a bass fishing nut and it was good to see a bunch of guys with the same problem

I think we are onto something here.

There is no way to type it out here and explain in detail without writing a book. The heart of the matter.

A tournament circuit owned and ran by bass fishermen....us. It's a very straight forward simple idea. It will work. It will take a little time and money. There is a business plan in the works. When completed, there will be meetings scattered around and a lot of discussion.

Please note guys. There was 40 fishermen there last night and nothing on this site. No one was ever asked NOT post or pass info. What does this fact mean to me? Guys are thinking, want to hear more, and will give it a chance.

We had a few good laughs and some very good points were made. The only person that got out of line , was me. I said some things I shouldn't have. I got caught up in the moment a couple of times. Please remember there are some really good businessmen that are bass fishermen and care about this sport. A group of these guys are talking right now. The seed is planted.

Gary's right, alot of us I know are really thinking, Im sure I propably wasn't the only one that stayed up late think about ideas to bring to the table and get this thing started. I think its really gonna be an amazing curcuit, if we all stay on this, stay excited, think of the outcome down the road and dont forget the big picture, its gonna be unstoppable! I think once a "business plan" gets put together and the whole idea is lined out and can be showed to more guys and what not so they can really see how its gonna work, this is gonna blow up and take off alot faster than expected!

The meeting was great and i really believe this can be the answer and future of bass fishing tourneys if put together and ran correctly without greed. Great job Gary for the idea you definitely planted the seed, now we just need the right guys to water and take proper care of it.

i always said we need a union. if this is anything of the sort, it will be great for US the Tournament fisherman. If we would just all come together and make decision as a whole, the options in this sport would be greatly reduced and there would be more money on the table for everyone to win. Just my opinion. Cant wait to hear more Gary!

The smarter guys want a business plan before a bunch of meetings. The plan is in the works and we'll get after it next week. I expect meeting to start in a couple of weeks. I will be doing a lot of traveling there will not be 2 days notice like this last one. To get 40 guys there with no notice was beyond awesome. Thanks guys.

I am glad I was able to attend the meeting. I can tell you it was 99% positive feedback and a great concept is at hand here.
The key topic is a chance to get our sport back on track with input directly from US the Anglers!
This will take time,effort,and togetherness from the Anglers.
A chance for us to have a impact on the future of our sport!

The idea of the meeting was to get a feel for will this work??

This was easy Yes it will!

Im excited so many good ideas!

The greatest part is it's for the love of our sport our people and the Anglers!

We truly have the chance to build something special!

Many great opportunitie to come!

I will be glad to be a part of anything that helps our sport and it's growth!

As with most things in life, "the devil is in the details".
A sound business plan is essential for success.
Lots of hard work ahead to get this off the ground, but it has a chance of really changing the face of tournament angling on the West Coast.
It is a chance to put the anglers in the driver's seat, and help make tournament angling affordable, and enjoyable.

I as many am very glad I attended the meeting to hear Gary's thoughts... This is something that can truly be amazing for the future of fishing for the angler's in Cali/West. The discussion was great and I think Gary was the voice for many angler's when he was speaking his mind and sharing his vision. With a strong business plan and being able to stay on track with the vision... it will all be possible.
I can't wait to hear more about this exciting opportunity... I have begun to talk to people about it already and have been telling them to keep an eye out for future meetings.. it's a MUST attend if you love the sport of bass fishing and love to fish tournaments..

Let's make this happen... the true failure would be not to try!

Thanks for stepping up for the angler's Gary... this is a golden opportunity.
