Would you like to see a different type of trophy?

Most tournament organization give plaques (Wood) out for winning.

Would it be nice if something else was awarded beside Wood? Something like windbreaker that has the Name of the Tournament with 1st place winners. Maybe at the TOC rain gear with the Name of the Tournament with 1st place winners. This way you can see who won what at gathering of Anglers.

What about rings or watches (like WON Bass did) that are inscribe with the name of the tournament and place?

What Wood that I do have is collecting dust on my “I love you wall”.

Now these are the posts I like to see. I love to hear when guys are thinking outside the box. At this years Pro/Ams we changed all the plaque to Crystal Awards. I have been to more than a few tournament anglers homes, and have seen the trophy rooms, as well as the magazine racks or beer stands made out of press wood plaques. When I saw enough of them, I understood that we had to come out with something a bit different and worthy of the wife to leave out. We are working on getting a sponsor for the teams event trophies, but with 14 regions and 98 tournaments to provide trophies for, you could imagine the hardship and cost. Anyway, I am with you Marty!

I have to Agree. I like the Crystal Bowl thing or maybe watches. And for me, Im still good with plaques, but that's because i have them all on my office walls. I seriously doubt my wife would let me turn them into Living room decor. LOL But the other day i was at a tournament where they got 6' tall trophies. Though they were hecka cool, honestly, what on earth would you do with them besides the garage.

Why don't they find something like Lord Stanley's Cup. Get your names engraved on the cup and keep it for a year in your home(6months each angler) til the next TOC. Great conversation piece in the house. Drink Crown Royal out of it

. That would be exciting to hoist a big TOC trophy over your head and run around the parking lot like the hockey guys do with Lord Stanley!

Just a thought. We need to get excited about something like they do at Bassmasters! Just a thought. Like the ring idea too. D.B.COOPER

I agree, one thing I don't need is more wood (not that i'm in a position to get an award anymore). If and when I do finish high enough to be rewarded, I think a wind breaker, Tournament shirt or something that is usable would be nice. One thing that 1 of the directors of WON did one year was to give you a hat with your tournament win embroidered on it, not in a gaudy fashion but nice. I still wear the hat.
Another question, is there a charity out there that will take that wood as a donation to be re-made for kids maybe? Just wondering.

If there just reg tournaments hats and shirts If there toc or aoy awards rings watches or belt buckles.
In bowling you roll 300 you get a ring.
800 series you get a ring.
I have 300 and 299 rings both and a 300 bowling pin clear coated with 300 on it is very nice trophy to display.
