networking question

Post by kane-o »

i have a hds7 on the bow with a new ducer and lss-1,and a 28hd on the console. im going to be getting another hds7 or 8 to replace the 28hd. and there networked with the nema 2000 and a 3000 gps puck. my question is will i need a new power cord for the new unit or will my 28hd power work ? and im sure i will need another transducer, and will i need the gps puck or would you run the gps thats inside the hds units ? thanks ken or marc !!

First of all I would recommend installing the new power cord to replace the older, three wire cord. The LGC 3000 GPS antenna got it's power through the head units via the NMEA power cord being connected to a power and ground source. By installing the new power cord this will insure the NMEA power is disconnected. The internal antenna is the same as the 3000. I would replace the 3000 with the LGC 4000 as it is 5 times faster than the 3000. If you don't upgrade to the 4000 now, remove the 3000 and use the internal antennas in the HDS units. The transducer is the same on the HDS units that you have already in your boat for the LCX 28c HD.
