I've been trying to use it in the delta without any success so far. One problem is the way the tide pushes the bait back towards the boat if I position the boat into the current, so slow dragging doesn't work as well, the way this rig is supposed to be used. Fishing with the current is even worst.
I had a chance to fish Berryessa for the fist time (first time fishing any lake) and tried it out. It seems to be a lot more effective due to no current.
Has anyone used it successfully in the delta? Any tips appreciated.
Thanks
James
I need some tips with carolina rig
Re: I need some tips with carolina rig
try the ponds/lakes. franks, mildred etc. or in the dead end sloughs outside of weedlines in like 8-14'.
think like in sycamore slough on all the rounded levee points made by inside channel swings. Might try drop shotting instead though.

I use braid as my main line and flouro for the hook. Always a 1/2 oz weight and only fish single tail grubs or a fluke. Throw along grass edges wether I'm in front or back of boat.
