I'm in the east bay Fremont area, you would be surprised about the fishing close to you. Head over to Quarry Lakes over in Fremont and toss some traps, you'll be surprised with the quality of fish you catch.

Take a kid fishing, and don't forget about us older kids either..
Re: Anyone in San Jose /Silicon Valley?
I'm not surprised by the fishing around here.. my problem is no car, no transport. My Gf will get me out if its less than 8 miles each way which limits me to the Campbell perc ponds and lake vasona.
I want to get out and hit calero, or anderson or somewhere with some hogs.

Calero is within 8 miles of where you are, just barely, but it is pretty good fishing..I have done OK on shore, but prefer to fish there in a boat..Calero probably provides better shoreline fishing than any other lake in the area..

If you can get transportation to and from the lake Sunday the
12th I will spend the morning showing you the lake. If that
won't work I can also do a drop in after work that week.

Hey duder,
Sup, I live in south san jose and really, you have a lot of great fishing around you, get a float tube dude, actually, i'm selling one if you're interested. k the low down...
calero, by far my favorite place to go, soon(as soon as the weather warms up)
the spinner bait fishing will be great on the south end. senkos will work too. but get a float tube.
almaden reservoir(not lake)
untapped resource dude, go there at least by one in the afternoon and walk the bank till it gets dark, throw hula grubs either on jig heads or texas rigged and you'll get bit. when the water gets higher there, fish the end with all the trees and you're in buisiness.
coyote,
one of the few lakes in santa clara county that you can fish from the bank at night and there is trophy bass in there. take your girl camping on the weekend once the water clears up, and go cast a black spinner bait or a black worm off the banks and you'll get bit.
the perc ponds,
not as good as they used to be but if you have no where else to go, senkos, 1/4 oz. jigs in brown and spinner baits will work.
hmmm, the creek by denny's off of blossom hill, looks ghetto but, there are 6 plus pounders in there man, park at denny's walk down to the creek and throw all the stuff you got.
those are just a few, but i haven't fished quarry lake yet but i heard it's good.
ask around for info at fisherman's warehouse for some tips, go to fishsniffer.com and talk to the guys in the BASS fishing forum too. They fish all these lakes too.
