I've got a Puma with an Evinrude 225 HO E-Tech. If you live around Sacramento send me an email and you are welcome to go out with me some time. I'm still getting used to this boat but so far I'm very pleased with it. It handles even better than my 2004 Cougar FTD did.

Want a Test Ride on the Skeeter iClass

Post by Marc »

I will be giving test rides all day on the new Skeeter iClass and several other Skeeter models this Saturday.

All you have to do is meet us at Gene Coulon Park Ramp in Renton.

It is on the south end of Lake Washington...just in case you happen to be in the neighborhood

I can't speak to the Bass Cat (NaCl is the guy to get the low down on them), but would be happy to answer any question you may have on the Skeeter. If you get a chance, be sure to check out their knee brace system and aluminum grid deck system. I'm convinced that Skeeter is now the strongest and safest boat in the market, bar none. Lots of other neat features also. Maybe Bass Travelor can give you a demo down your way.

Re: Skeeter 20i feedback

Post by Ken Mah »

I can’t help you compare to the BassCat, but I can give you some feedback about the new Skeeter 20i. The boat fishes like you are standing on a dock. Extremely stable and the flush mounted latches are wonderful, nothing to sit on or trip over. From the front compartment to the stern, the entire deck got 4 inches wider than the ZX series. It has a great platform. Built in recessed trolling motor foot pedal. Dash has the capability to flush mount a large X25. DMS sealed flush switching. Auto keyless locks and alarm. Plush new seats.

The performance is amazing. I am running a 27 Tempest on a standard 12â€

BASSCAT is the BEST

Post by Guest »

I know, my response title is going to raise some eyebrows..that being said, let me explain....there are serveral good boats out there. I can tell you this, if Ken Mah is running a skeeter, it must be a good boat. He wouldnt run it if it wasnt. Now for what I know. The most repspected independant analyst in the country, JD POWERS and ASSOC. has just named BASSCAT the best in the industry for the second year in a row in customer service and the best manufacturer this year. You cant get a better endorsement than that. If you choose a boat remember this. BASSCAT has a true LIFETIME waranty on the hull, and is tranferable when you decide to buy your second BASSCAT a few years down the road. It just doesnt get any better than this. While I personnally have only been with BASSCAT for 4 months, I have never been more impressed with a company in my life. Good luck with your choice and I wish you well. GO BASSCAT

Gary,

If you can come to Clear Lake I will try to arange a demo in both boats side by side. I am running a Puma with a 250 XS and Seig Taylor is running a I Class with a 250 HPDI. I am extremly happy with my Bass Cat and have ran just about every bot on the water. I will stand behind my Bass Cat as the best boat I have ever had or ran. Not only that but Bass Cat is still and always will be a family owned company that takes care of there owners, They are not a large corporation worring about there bottom line.

Its all about the "Bling"! Bass Cats are fast and I hear they are good rough water boats, but they are ugly! They look really cheep compared to all of the other new boats on the market. If your in to how your boat looks go with the Skeeter. They are also very fast and look much better. You dont want your wife saying "you spent all of that money on this?" If you spend $40-$50k on a new boat, you better wow her!

If you want the BEST boat on the market, Buy a Ranger
Best re-sell value, best fishing platform, best looking, best built, best rough water boat, Safest, ect. Just not the fastest.

Hey Bigstick,

I've never been in a Bass Cat and I've never been in a Skeeter until I went to Havasu. The Pro I was with was Derrick Patch and while my experiences at fast speeds are limited, he made my first experience in a Skeeter a fast one. I was very impressed with the way it rode, now granted I have never seen anyone drive a boat like Derrick. I currently own a Triton and I like it and I have been in Rangers Z series many times which are great to. The only thing I can tell you is sit in one and if you can get it on the water. Good luck
