FPT Berryessa
FPT Berryessa
Any chance that the FPT Berryessa season opener this Saturday will be canceled or rescheduled? Just saw the weather report and they are predicting thunder storms and hail that day. Just wondering, thanks

I can almost guarentee they wont postpone this event. Unfortuantely we dont get to choose the days we fish! ha A little hail never hurt nobody, and very low % of thunder and lightning. Plus with all these warm nights a rain weve been having im thinking these fish are going to be chewing gooood! Heading out tomorrow to practice, so well see how it goes! Goodluck to you if you decide to fish!

The forecast I saw was low pressure and rain. Kind of sucks for fishermen....but the bite should be awesome. Should be some big ones caught. Fishing Chicken for a limit might not be a good idea
Have fun guys.

The tournament will go on as planned. Yes we will have some weather, but nothing forecast that would cause the event to be cancelled.
Last year we had well over 100 teams participate in what was one on the nastiest storms on record, but the bite was tremendous, and though many were wet at the end of the day, everyone made it back safely.
Fishing through inclimate weather (100 degrees, or raining), is an important part in building your skills, and if you are going to be a successful competitor, you have to learn to overcome it.
Also, none of the Pleasure Cove/Rag Canyon areas will be off limits, so if you don't want to run the lake, and burn alot of gas, you dont have to. Just drop your trolling motor and start fishing. Remember the Pleasure Cove and Markely Cove areas are where all of the tourmaments on Berryessa go out of, so they are both loaded with fish - front and back.
See you on Sat!
