HDS 8 with Insight map question

I just bought this unit a month ago. When I zoom in or look at the lake im on I have 0 dept contours ???? I could of swore I heard guys talking about being able to see 5ft depth contours with insight ??

All I see is a blue lake with names of coves. Is there a setting im missing here or is this the best it has to offer me without the navionics chip?

What lake? And gen1 or 2?

Gen 1 and so far just Havasu and Irvine.

Hit menu two times, go to Chart and hit enter. Make sure that "Lowrance" is selected in the Map Data box not Navionics. This should help on Havasu because I know that lake is included in the Insight USA and Lake Insight mapping packages. I don't know about Irvine.
