GPS Problem

Post by HawgCatcher »

I have a problem with my GPS modual. I upgraded one of my units to a HDS8 and moved my LCX-28cHD to the front of my boat and removed the GPS modual and moved it to the front also. After hooking it up and when I powered it up everything was fine until it came up on the screen saying "GPS Modual not Responding". WTH? :x Everything was working before I moved it. What could it be?

Thx,
Herb

The GPS module needs power to work. Make sure when you moved the LCX 28c HD to the front you moved the three wire power cable with it. The fat wire of the three is the power to the unit. One of the two smaller wires has a chrome tag on it and says NMEA. Make sure this is connected to a hot and a ground also. This is how the GPS module gets it's power, through the head unit.
