Re: don pedro
Just wondering . Why are you getting into crankbaits at pedro. A cotton candy 6" lizard, a 6" pro worm in pro gold with red flake, a purple death 6" pro worm, or a deadly dueo 6' thru 12" green wenie should all work good up there about now. all the pro worms can be bought on the way up at the Bait Barn. the deadly dueo worms I get from Bobs Bait Bucket in Bakersfield ( the one on S. Chester ave )and they mail them to me so worth the try. If you drop shot the 10" or 12" deadly deuo green weines on a 5/0 EWG . or for any bed fish you might find do a 1/0 worm hook drop shot but put it only 2" above the weight and try the cotton candy lizard. you might be surprized what you can catch. Have fun . I used to go up there with 1 rod rigged with a rick hoover 3/8 brown jig, 1 heavy rod, 16lb floro rigged with a 2" above dropshot rig for bubba shoting, and 2 splitshot rods rigged with 8lb flro rigged with a 1/4 oz texas worm weight with a red line stop and about 2' of line below that as a minni c-rig one had pro gold red flake the other had purple death or a 6' green weine
I love that lake

Frank, Rod is absolutely correct in saying you can find all you need for tackle and food, beer, ice that kind of thing at the Bait Barn in Waterford. Its only about 25mins from Blue Oaks or Flemming launch ramps. Click on the ad above this post and you can get a idea what all we carry. A lot of the evenings we have one or more of the team members working in their and would be more than happy to give you what's working best up their right now. A lot of Bait Barn Team members have tournaments up there in the next couple of weeks ,so they've done their home work and wont be to tight lipped to share some info with you to make your visit a remember-able one. By the way my name is Steve Black and my business card is at the register if you would like one, also if you order on line before you leave I have a code ''BLACK'' on the back of the card that will offer you 10% off your order, hope that helps. If you get tired of Pedro, Lake McClure is just around the corner which is red hot right now. Take a look at ABA Motherlode results which fished last weekend which Robert Manzor runs. He also maybe a guy to look up for he lives up there at Don Pedro. Good luck with you r&r and if there is anything you need were only a phone call away. Keep the line wet and swing for the fence, good luck. Steve Black Team Bait Barn.
