Best Clear Lake Angler. . Where are you?

Post by t8erbug »

Gonna be making a quick trip up to Clear Lake here in the next couple weeks and I'm wanting some inside info. Who out there fishes Clear Lake often and well?? I'm not asking for anyone to give up spots or baits but just a general list of "Clear Lake Rules/Guidelines". EX: Don't flip tules in spring, never fan cast, always use 6lb leader etc etc.. Any help would be fantastic! I'd really like to get on a few 5+ pounders

With the pro am this weekend and FLW here next week guys will be tight lipped.80 degree weather this weekend is going to change the fishing alot. Water temps now 55-60.the whole north end has a little color and there are fish shallow and deep. For bigger fish throw swimbaits or a- rigs. There are more fish moving into the tullies all the time and a few fish on beds . Center section of the lake is clear if thats what you like to fish. Jigs , dropshot, flipping ,its all working and even a few topwater fish being caught

Thanks Dave! So pretty much choose a tactic I consider my strongest and go with it? When and why are the bass moving into the tules? I'm comfortable pitching, cranking, topwater, and jigging for the most part. I'm not a fan of drop shotting and don't have a ton of experience open water jigging. I just want to be where I need to be and do what I need to do to catch a few tanks! What are some good points of the lake and types of structure to focus on?
