Poor Man's Power Pole?? Dig-In Anchors!

I had seen some of you posting about the Dig-In Anchors a while back so I decided to contact the owner to discuss advertising. The owner, Mike Grady, is a great guy and really has a product that will fill a definite niche in the western bass region.

Interestingly...Mike told me that there are a lot of guys who buy one Power-Pole and then buy one dig-in anchor for the bow. Many others just opt for the Dig-in Anchors alone which can be used singly or on the bow and stern.

These shallow water anchoring systems are currently available at Tackle Warehouse http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/?from=wbass or at West Marine. There will be some new tackle/boat shops carrying these which will be announced in the coming weeks.

The poles are 3/4 inch in diameter and come in 8Ft, 10Ft & 12Ft lengths.
(available in White, Black, Red, Pink & Yellow)

No... They are not telescopic. (Have been trying to solve that challenge for 3 years)

I have a set of these on my boat, the 8ft pole works great on the back of my boat in up to 6 1/2 feet of water but doesn't work to great up front if I am over 3 1/2 to 4 feet of water. I wish I had got an 8 and 10 foot pole, so if you buy a set consider a longer pole. The only problem I would see with the longer pole is it will not fit in the rod locker. I would like to order a 10 footer, but it is $83 + $69 shipping. I am trying to find someone that might be travelling from back east that can pick one up for me, I live in Modesto.

I'd be interested in seeing these up close as well. I have 96 Skeeter ZX190 and it doesn't really make sense to drop upwards of $2k on an anchor system as I'd never see that money back if I go to sell it and upgrade boats (which could be the case is a couple of years) so this system might be worth it.

Is it sold anywhere locally? How much of a pain is it to drop it down, pick it up, move, and drop it back down, over and over if you're working your way down a bank or tully patch? Then if you have a ton of rods on deck in a dual console where do you store it when you're running and gunning around the Delta?

I think they are called Hillbilly power polls since im from the south. looking forward to getting these on my tracker. storage of the polls are easy and for the guy that wants to know about putting a cover on the boat with the poles. they pull out and lay on deck.If you put a cover on when they are in place, your a bigger hillbilly than me ....ha
they store along one side of boat and i secure them with velcro strap( like rod saver). i guess i should of used some bailing wire...

This is a great idea. I saw some bolt on rod holders on a boat yesterday (tube type) that could be modified to be a mount. The mount looked like great quality but a little pricey as well. I was wondering how I was going to ever pay 3K plus for a couple of power poles

the cost is great
you can get two for half the cost of one power poll and they don’t stick up when your backing into the garage and no batteries or hydraulics and they are lite

Ok guys I installed my dig n anchors this weekend.
Really easy to install. The hardest part was the mental part about having to drill a hole in my perfectly fine Tracker.
Once I got past that I was done in half hour. Easy to install. Next trip to the delta I will do a video and show you how they work. These will keep me off the trolling motor and allow me to fish an area. If your wondering how it works you slide a fiberglass rod into the bracket and it holds you in place. Really slick and easy…..

They are great. I have had them on my 18' Skeeter Aluminum for 3 years, front and back. I have both the 8' and 12' poles. Last February I also bought the Venom pole bracket (mounts on the trolling motor) for my Ranger. Both systems use the same poles.
