My "Baby" was born on Monday!

Post by Brian D. »

Isn't she pretty! Still in the mold at the factory and as you can see with some rough edges. In the weeks to come she will develop in to a beautiful thing. Papa is proud and totally stoked. I will post pics during her transformation throughout the weeks. :D

Yea. Im stoked. Approximate time from when they "shoot the mold" till when its finished is 4 - 5 weeks. Lots of variables come into play at times. The biggest issue is getting engines in stock fast enough. Ya'll can guess what its going to be. heheh :-)

How quick they grow up and develop. The coloring is just perfect - only a Daddy could love. Just got these pics today and yes, she is a 2013 Legend Alpha 199. Papa is proud!

I'll post progress pics as I get updates from the factory. Although I'm a “buy it and be done with it” guy, seeing progress pics of how your bote is built in different phases makes the experience so much more satisfying. I was going to visit the plant in Midway Arkansas but I have work obligations. Midway is right up the road from Flippin, AR. Closest major airport is a few hours away, so its in the boonies.

Mark, the engine will be nursed on a steady diet of 89 octane, Mercury DFI oil, and Quikleen.

Congratulations Brian..... Looks like someone might be fishing the front of the boat soon. Looking forward to seeing you and your baby at some events when you have her trained!

Your new boat is going to look sweet Brian! Make sure to run 87 Octane in it. No need for the 89.

Congrats Brian. That is one sweet ride. She even looks like you-- a wide beam, flat stern,
and a short pointy bow!!

Funny Stuff.

Billy, always ready to fish from the front. Gotta tell my boss that I need more time off!

87 Octane it is. Hopefully the Merc will be good with gas economy. 42 gal. tank @ $4.20 gal. = $176.40

Ron! I'm not as wide as I use to be... lost a bunch of weight. I may be up at Havasu (or Delta) in late June to break her in.

I thought you really were having a flesh and blood baby that you could take fishing! Enjoy it in good health with many casts and as few bumps as possible. No speeding now keep it under or around the recommended RPMs till she's ready to WOT fully Trimmed. Sooner or later I'd like to go to Have a Sue with Ya.

Updates Pics....

Post by Brian D. »

Got some new pics over the weekend. As you can see she is moving along and at this stage the bote is ready to be "turfed" (carpeted). Also, the custom seat colors and Ferrari-style stitching turned out better than expected. Baring any unforeseen circumstances the crew at the Legend factory should have her done by the 1st week of June. Guess I should get the nursery (Garage) cleaned up and ready.

There she is... my purdy new pride and joy. Almost ready to come home next week.
Carpet, console guages, engine installed. Electronics, hotfoot pending some simple adjustments.
Image

Console with the custom offset silver guage bezels. Empty area in center console for more electronics if needed. Enough room to mount an IPad in an Otter case. Note, the solid fiberglass console. NO plactic inserts, like on many boats, that may break, crack or have an odd fit due to hull stress. Blinker engine trim. Push button accessory panel. I really Love, love, love this.... No need for one switch per light or accessory fuction. In my world, more switches = more things to break.
Image

Purdy side view.
Image

Went with the dark grey carpet for a better look. Yeah.. gets hot, but it wont show all the dirt and grime as much as a lighter carpet. Electronics mounted on Ram mount to side of console with a swing mount.
Image

Mercury Pro XS 225 Engine is installed and being configured. Boat is hung from straps waiting to sit on its new EZLoader trailer. Still need the two Minn Kota Talons installed.
Image

Super compfy seats with color coordinated accents. Opted for a center storage box versus a third person seat that sits over....more storage/cooler.
Image

The matching trailer with 15" custom wheels. Not too blingy. Dual axle with surge brakes. Also, shown are other boats with custom colors for a one of a kind look.
