There are a few reports up from yesterday on the Delta here http://www.westernbass.com/ncalifornia/ ... .html?id=8
Re: delta bite?
There are fish here in all three phases of the spawn cycle, Pre-spawn, on beds and post spawn. Tules are definately a factor, whether it be the sparce tules on the rocks, the back sides of big tule islands with flats and the many tule groves in the flooded islands. Water temps are ranging from the high 60s to low 70s, some really nice jig fish are already setting up on the rocks with current. The buzzbait bite has also come on, beyond that, it's a plastic bite that is most productive all day. 9L Senko still producing the biggest fish of the day for us, yet a Finichi rig with a Yamamoto Kut tail or Zoom trick worm(nail weight/Whacky) is finnessin' a lot of them short Senko biters. Dropshotting an Iovino S20 or Robo MMIII catches em in the grass. Crankin the red cranks is workin too, will put plenty of fish in the boat, but more dinks than keepers. Fry starting to show in isolated areas, some small schools of shad too in the grass.mrbassin0614 wrote:What are they up to? rock, tule? Any one on bed fish etc? Thanks in advance.
The bite can be very inconistsant if yer not in a location where the fish are, they are spawning deeper this year and not loading up in the typical shallow areas we normally catch em. Gotta move around till ya find a colony, then work em over. The punch bite is also there too. Be prepaired to junk fish and move around if yer not catching fish in any one area with regularity.
