OK, I have the Gen 1 HDS-8 unit with LSS-1 transducer mounted under my jack plate and if I'm understanding correctly my LSS-1 supports the LSS-2 transducer. I'm thinking about mounting a LSS-2 transducer on my trolling motor thereby having 2 LSS transducers. My question, can this be done? Is it worth it? How do I specify which transducer I'm looking at when up front or in back?
Thanks.

Also, do they make a bracket that will hold the LSS-2 as well as a puck transducer for a Motor Guide?

Re: 2 Structure Scan Units Questions
You would have to unhook your transom transducer everytime you wanted to use the front one. The LSS box (either 1 or 2) only supports one transducer at a time. I'm not sure there is a trolling motor that is large enough to hold the LSS2 and a regular 2D transducer at the same time. You might check Transducer Shield and Saver site. Give them a call, if anyone has a mount for the LSS2 it would be them. Be ready though they aren't cheap.
I stand corrected, apparently there is a new Y-cable that allows two LSS1 transducers to plug into one box. No idea how you shift between transducers and it doesn't work with LSS2. Give Lowrance a call and they should be able to answer your questions.
