What is the best aftermarket chip for maps?

Post by pigdestroyer »

I have a couple Lowrance units. One older model (x-15) and one HDS 7. What is the best chip to get for Southern California lakes?

Hi my name is Tshombe Moore and I'm with Navionics. Putting aside my obvious bias, you have two options for your HDS7. 1. Depending on what unit you purchased, you may have "built-in" Lowrance charts (Lake Insight) or what we call "ready to navigate" charts and for some anglers, it's enough data. 2. Navionics makes two fresh water lake chips. HotMaps Premium & HotMaps Platinum and for California, northern & southern, we have several lakes with improved data. Unfortunately, Navionics does not have a solution for your X-15.
