HDS7 Gen2 Blackout

HDS7 Gen2 Blackout
just installed HDS7 Gen2, went fishing, when placed in standby and press enter to bring out of standby the screen loses back lite (can barely see image on screen). Have to power off and things go back to normal. During 4 hour outing did this 4 times. Did a reset and went fishing again next morning, this time only did it once (had to power off to return to normal). This unit is ethernet to HDS5 Gen2 and both are fresh out of box. Any idea's or should I return 7 to lowrance for check-up. All electrical connections are secure, also did restore to defaults. what is a hard rebot if necessary?------thanks

Re: HDS7 Gen2 Blackout
I haven't heard of this problem before. I would recommend calling Lowrance Customer Care and getting an "RA" number, Return Authorization Number from Customer Service and send it back in. Call 1-800-324-1356, explain the problem to the Customer Service Representative, and they will document what you explain to them and then assign you a Return Authorization Number that you will place on the outside of the return packaging and send it back. The service technician that receives your return will know what is wrong and either fix it or send you a new unit.
