Congratulations to Won Bass for bringing the 30th anniversary to the fishermen. This tournament not only represents the best in the west, but has anglers flying in from all over the globe to compete in a world class event. As a true fan, I support all your efforts. This is truly a super bowl of bass fishing.
Quote from the Won Bass home page…
Hall of Fame angler Rick Clunn has described the contest as “…the toughest, most grueling test of an angler’s skill and will, to overcome the obstacles and mental exhaustion which is the U.S. Open.” He has also boldly stated, “That if you do not have a U.S. Open title on your resume, you really can’t call yourself a true champion.” Testimonials such as these describe character and strength of the anglers that gauge themselves and their equipment at this ultimate test — the U.S. Open.
With less than 3 weeks away, who is fishing the US Open??? I would like to see a role call/roster on all the Pros participating in this prestigious event. How many Pro/boaters are already enrolled and please list their names. As a loyal follower of this event, and in Bass fishing history, numerous spectators are following this event want to know. This world class event will make a true Bass fishing legacy.

Where is the US in the US Open?
Re: Where is the US in the US Open?
The "Roster" will be available soon as a supplemental insert into Western Outdoor News. It is the US Open Program supplement which has been available prior to the event for as long as WON Bass has been around. It will likely answer most of your questions since it contains mini bio's about the anglers among a lot of other event and angler information.

As I told you before you should come on out and fish or at least come on out and do be a part of Sponsors Showcase, if your shoulder doesn't allow for it. We will have a ton of live webcast coverage and reports on our websites this year, and we will be doing expanded press coverage for websites, but it would be great if you guys came out and got more directly involved in the coverage, or get involved in our Sponsors Showcase or fish the actual tournament.
I hope to see you there.

Re: Where is the US in the US Open?
Dear John and Bob,
With all due respect, as a loyal follower of the upper echelon of bass fishing, I do apologize in advance to Western Bass.com and Won Bass, but there are limited national events in our area. I feel an important question has been side stepped. How many world class/ Top Pros are already pre registered for this prestigious event? As viewed on Western Bass forums, I see two AAA non boaters almost begging for pre fish and entrance into this event. As with any professional sporting event building a hype/fan following is a common tactic to bring a bigger bang and enthusiasm towards an event. Has the event reached full capacity on the Pro level? If so, is the AAA‘s on a first come, first serve basis? When will the contestant program insert be available for viewing in the Won publication?

The U.S. Open is just around the corner, and this years event more than ever will be delivering on all levels with the LIVE broadcast and Blogs. The team that we have assembled for the Open is going to be running on all cylinders, providing the daily coverage and information flowing to those that could not make it, or are at home watching their loved one's compete. We are currently at 97 paid Pro's and around 120+ AAA's. We anticipate more sign ups in the days to come. A full list will be posted after all registrations are in on Friday and we will let you and all those that are following the event, see who is signed up to make history at the 30th anniversary U.S Open. As for the program... That will be in next weeks weekly paper. Notables so for are Aaron Martens, Mike Folkestad, Rick Clunn, Byron Velvick, John Murray, Gary Dobyns, Dean Rojas, Clifford Pirch, Justin Kerr, Shaun Bailey and the list goes on. In all honesty with the current economy and the way things are these days, getting over 100 boaters is a great turnout! The AAA's are doing what they can to get in, and find the remaining Pro's that are planning on coming and have not yet registered. It's part of the game, and the AAA's are getting smarter and networking to get off the list! Those that are not networking, are unfortunately getting beat to the punch.
Entries will be accepted through this week, and until close of business on Sept 7th. No entries will be accepted once official practice has begun. It's only far to those that have committed early. I know there are many out there, as I have been in the phone for weeks gearing up for this event, that are still on the fence.... Seriously... What are you waiting for! Byron wasn't Byron until he won the Open...The rest so they say is HISTORY! Now it's your turn!
