Z520 vs. Z521
Which is better, all around asspects, Z520 or the z521. Hull wise no motor.
Re: Z520 vs. Z521
I've owned both so for this comparison, we will use the previous models, not the 2013 z520C.
The z520 fishes great, is a little bit faster and more "nimble" when you drive it around corners and it does get up on pad faster. It will always vary based on load. My 09 z520 ran 71.8-73 every day my 11 Z521 runs 69.5-70.9 every day.
The 521 front deck layout is by far superior although its only 6" longer, the entire 6" is from the console forward. The day box on the starboard side is large enough that you can throw most of the boxes that you are going to use for that day in it. This allows you to sit on the center locker without moving on/off of it every time you need something out of it. The center step is a cooler although I use mine for plastic storage and baits that cut off etc.
Hands down if the size is not a storage(garage) issue for you, get the z521.
If you want a ride in my z521 before its gone, drop me an email. If you are up at Clearlake, I'll be there Wednesday through Sunday. Good luck either way, both boats are badazz.

Re: Z520 vs. Z521
Mah just gave a great description of both models! (Zup Ken!). I have had both as well, and currently have the 2013 Z520c. The Z520c is the best tournament boat I have ever owned, but Z521 is very nice. Without writing too much, I would say if you are looking for a tournament boat, go Z520c. If weekend team warrior, guide, or just want to relax and fun fish, then Z521. If near DVL in So. Cal, you can demo with me in the Z520c. Good luck. TL

I've owned both as well. Just adding a little to Tony and Ken's posts. The 520 carries the width farther forward in the boat. The bow in quite a bit wider on the 520. Both are awesome boats. I like the two ice chests in the 521 for desert events. The 521 rides rough water a little better than 520. The 520 is a bit faster by about 1to 1 1/2 MPH...not a big deal here...set up, engine brand, and driver ability will all vary more than 1-2 MPH.
The 520C will take the largest locators in dash now. They also have some cool storage areas, and an adjustable drivers seat. I can help with demo rides in either 520C or 521 for guys in my area. Also, I'll be fishing a lot of events this next year and will be happy to do demos at these as well.
