I was thinking of putting one of these on the bow of my boat, but found out that this unit doesn't have broadband sonar. It has GPS and down scan imaging only and I want the broadband sonar capability. I'm waiting for the Elite 7 HDI to be released next month. That unit will cost around $700 but it will have broadband sonar, down scan imaging and GPS charting. You will need to buy the transducer to go with this unit if you want to use the down scan imaging.
