Pardee Info

Post by Multispecies »

Hi Folks,
I am on vacation next week and am looking to fish somewhere new for a couple days low budget style. I am thinking of Pardee. All the years I have lived in Sac. I have never fished there and I do love catching smallmouth. Weather permitting I will probably do the tent thing. I was hoping I could get reccomendations for lures and areas of the lake to fish to make the learning curve a little shorter. I will be in a boat.
Thanks, Dylan

It is going to be colder than heck up there and should have snow based on what is going on with the weather. I am not sure they are even open yet they close for the season.

Dylan,

It is a fantastic bass fishery but can be real finacky, one day a 15 lb limit, the next day two bites!!! I just finally got my first 10 lber up there after fishing this lake quite a bit over the last six years.
(Swimbait)

You will need to spend at least a day or two driving around figuring out the neat differnet structure and like that fit your style, Swimbaits on the deep points, rippin the boulders, dropshottin the main deep river arm, tossing jigs on sunken islands, spinnerbaits upriver in the grassy area, tossing senkos on the flats on the main body!!! Oh Yea Dart headin Pro Worms in the river arm DUH!!
This little body of water has a ton of challenges and will produce Largemouth as well as Smallmouth.

Not sure on the cost for campling as I ama a Sacto guy and go for the day about 8- 10 times a year, they open in the 1st of feb.
Four Decades of Red!!!!!!!!

For some reason, that area has just been battered with thunderstorms, hail, snow, etc, for the past 2 weeks. I would fish slow and jigs would probably be a good choice.
